Kanika High School

Kanika High School, located in Ayatan village, was established in 1960. Founded by the visionary philanthropist Dr. Ramachandra Sutar, this institution stands as a living testament to selflessness and community spirit. In an era when the only high school in the region was miles away in Rajkanika, rendering education an unattainable dream for many, Dr. Sutar stepped forward to bridge the gap. He generously donated his own ancestral property to serve as the foundation for the school and tirelessly mobilized resources to bring the project to life. Yet, in a profound display of humility and character, he chose not to name the institution after himself. For Dr. Sutar, the true reward was not personal fame, but the enduring gift of education he left behind for the greater good of the community.

It is managed by the Department of Education and situated in Rajkanika Block of Kendrapara district, Odisha. Since its inception, the school has been a beacon of knowledge, spreading education across the village and nearby areas. At present, the school provides classes from Grade 8 to Grade 10.
